I have a 2002 Ford explorer V6 with 115,000 miles. I drove my truck this AM and no problem. After parking it for awhile, when I started driving it again I noticed a loud clicking/banging noice coming from the rear of the truck. It sounded like a baseball card on the spokes of my bike when I was 10 only louder. No leaking, no flat tire, no warning from the dashboard signals. I parked the car immediately. Any ideas of the problem? I have had a dashboard warning light for a few weeks that says "service engine soon". Could this be related?

After further inspection, the spring on the shocks has a crack in it. Would this cause the load noise? What will it cost to repair?
