I just put my Explorer in the shop for power steering problems, and the shop called to tell me the 4x4 system is broken. The shift motor and modulator both shorted out so I was just wondering if it would be okay to still drive the car without fixing these problems? They quoted me at 750 just for those 2 parts and I'm short on cash at the moment. So my question is if i don't fix the 4x4 problems will my car still be okay to drive?

Hello
Thanks for the donation

Yes, your vehicle will run just fine without the 4x4 system. It will only be pulling with the two rear wheels, like a regular rear wheel drive vehicle. Obviously, this means you can not engage the 4x4 hi or 4x4 lo if needed for slippery conditions.

Hope this helps..
