1997 Ford Explorer transfer case fluid

I was wondering if the transfer case takes mercon V atf like the transmission? My 4wd options are 4wd auto, high, and low. Thanks.

Mercon R? Does mercon V supersede R? I'm about to put mercon v in the transmission and I'll probably have some left over. Thanks.
