My '96 Explorer faiiled inspection due to faulty ball joints. I have 2 questions. First, they say only the ones on the right side need replacing, does this sound right? Also, what's a fair price to get them replaced and get the vehicle realigned?

If only one side is bad .. only that side needs replacing .. labor is around 2 hours @ shop rate (around $70 P/H) depending on the type fitted to your vehicle .. all around the same repair time .. plus OEM dealer part ball joint $55 ... then whatever the shop charges for alignment
