when I hit the brakes the car growls and feels like the brakes are pushing back and it there anyway to remove the abs from my explorer?

Not a good idea and should have it checked and replaced
check if brake out of adjustment
check if ABS ring split on axle
removing the ABS fuse will disable the pump

is it a sensor that has gone bad on the wheel? because when i unplugged the abs control module it doesn't do it at all could it be the control module? the sensors on the wheels look like new but i have no clue

Have to check for ABS codes
sensor ring is more likely the problem
