As much as I hate my truck I am pretty firmiliar with it. I have noticed that lately my abs will occasionally engage for no aparent reason. When it happens I am usually going 5-15 mph and it is during normal braking conditions. I wnet on a 300-350 mile trip with no incident, and when I have to brake suddenly I have no probs. With in the last couple of days I have noticed that the abs light will come on. I usually turn off the truck and restart it, at which point the light goes away. I look at it again a few minutes later and it back on. This dosnt happen every time but it is becoming more and more frequent. When I comes to actual braking performance, the pads are about 2 months old, the pedal does not feel soft, and when the abs engages the vibrations are no different than normal. I am know more than enough about autos and I do all my own work and this is boggling my mind. Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys!

Have someone read the abs codes, if the connectors are the same for the eec4 and the abs, then both can be read by the little handheld scanner, they are the same for the 93 Taurus which my son drives, he had the same issue, sometimes the abs would apply under normal braking, the light would come on, it was a bad left front wheel sensor.
