The door open light is on all of the time. The rear tailgate is causing this even if it is closed. Now it sounds like the tailgate is continually trying to lock whenever the car is running.
Any ideas?

Usually the open light is caused by a sticking switch, which needs to be lubricated, if your door lock is locking and unlocking continously, most likely a wiring issue or a faulty lock solenoid
