Changed altinator still runs for 3 minute then dies I ran jumper wier to batery to bolt down wier on altinator nothing what does the wier do that clipes to altinator n could it be just a bad ground

There is a ground wire to the engine block or the generator is grounded through housing to block. Use a volt meter to check your gettting an output from live wire at generator when you start engine? Also the live wire to battery my be fused in some place? I do not have a wiring diagram sorry
