Car is idleing very rough. Shakes and sputters at stoplight. Out on highway it intermittantly sputters. Feels like the engine has a bad miss. Low on power. Gets worse when a/c is turned on. Engine light is on solid. Take it to dealership. Diagnosis code comes up 0351. Dealership service replaces coil for #1 cylinder, and spark plug, and a few gaskets. When I drive the car away after a $450. Bill.I don't even get a block away and the car starts the exact same thing as it was doing before they had it for 7 hours. I turn around and take it back to Dealership. They call me today and now say the PCM is shot. Also say that the car, on test drive, acts fine for them. I am wondering how they came up with the diagnosis that the PCM is shot. Does this sound correct to you or are they just replacing parts?
Thank You,
Annie

Well, I guess I should have known better than to expect an answer. This is a pay site just like all the others. Only they call it a donation. It takes $$$$ to get an answer. Anyway, the dealership still has my Escape. This is day #6, tomorrow it will be a week they have had it. No word from them yet on what they are doing with it. I don't know if replacing the PCM fixed it or not. Like I said, I think they are guessing and just replacing parts. Of course no response from this site either cause I did not make a $dontation$ or pay for an answer.
