I have a 1998 Ford Contour, today while traveling along the highway when attempting to accelerate to pass a truck there was no power behind the gas peddle. I was able to get to a parking lot where I replaced the plugs that were only a month old and also added dry gas hoping that I had water in the lines or something. AS I stated the plugs were only a month old as are the wires. The car will run but it skips horrible and sounds like it isnt firing on all 4 cylinders. It acts like it isnt getting gas, I can push the accelerator to the floor and the engine will rev a bit then die down and continue as such as long as I keep the peddle down. I can get the car to move but barely and it stalls alot. Best I was able to do was 20 MPH as you can imagine I had to get a tow truck to get home. Im at a loss as to what to do any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sounds to me like you have a bad fuel pump, check the fuel pressure with the engine off and the engine running. Also your car might have jumped time, check the timing marks, and verify they are aligned.
Then put the #1 cylinder at TDC and if the rotor is not pointing at the #1 spark plug wire then it has jumped time.
