Hello there.

Okay, I noticed the brake lights were still on when I came home. Googled a few things and found out it was a brake switch that had broken, I even found the remains by my pedals.

I then proceeded to remove a F/L 80A ACC IGN relay and the lights went off, but obviously the car didn't start.

And the more I type this, the stupider I feel. But I know nothing about cars.

Anyway, I put back in the relay and started the car, and what I wanted to do was remove the brake light fuse, but I removed the relay again, as the fuse was quite tightly packed in there while the car was running and now the car won't start at all. I know stupid move, but I really was thinking about only how I was going to get to work in the morning.

So to put it simple, this idiot removed a F/L 80a ACC IGN relay was the car was running, and now the car sounds like it wants to start but doesn't. Its like its right there. I also didn't want to touch anything else before consulting someone with way more brain cells than I.

Please help me, and I really do hope its a quick simple fix.

Thank you,
Chris,
A simple loving idiot.

Hi Chris:

Do me a favor. First, check the fuse you removed to confirm it didn't blow. Confirm that where it plugs in there are no pushed in or damaged pins. Removing that shouldn't be causing this.

Here are a few links to help with the fuse and checking things:

If everything checks, I want you disconnect the negative battery terminal and allow the vehicle to sit for about 5 minutes with it disconnected. Reconnect the battery and see if things have changed.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
