I have lights on my dash that came on suddenly and the speedo works at 25 mph, about a month after I had brakes installed, I have been told that it is my rear end sensor

Hi ranover,

Thank you for the donation.

You mean the ABS indicator lamp or Check Engine Lamp is showing? You need to get a scan done to find out what is causing the problem. You can get the scan done free at your local Autozone outlet and let me know the exact Diagnostic Trouble Code.

As to the speedometer working at 25 mph, does it stay at that reading no matter what speed you are driving or the vehicle does not go faster than that?

yes its the abs light and the brake light, I know normally the brake light comes on when the brakes are out of adjustment or when they need to be replaced, the brakes where replaced all the way around, the lights came on after I went through a car wash, I tried to disconnect the battery but that didn't work. The speedo works normally after the truck reaches 25 mph. thanks for the replies

Hi,

Regarding the ABS, there should be a malfunction in the system and since it only comes on after a short driving distance, it most probably is caused by a wheel sensor. To be sure you need a scan to retrieve the Diagnostic Trouble Code ( DTC ). You can get it done free at your local Autozone outlet and get back with the exact DTC so that I can understand the problem and provide necessary assistnce.

What is your vehicle classified as ;
Van B1500, B2500, B3500
or Pickup R1500, R2500, R 3500?
