I have a 1996 Dodge Neon with 160,000 miles, a 2.0 L SOHC. It is overheating on the highway, but only after several hours of usage. It doesn't heat around town, only on the highway, and only in the afternoon after several stops. I have replaced the radiator cap, the water pump, the thermostate, flushed the cooling system, and had the cooling system power flushed. It still does it. The fans cut on when they're supposed to, and I am frankly at a loss. My next step is to replace the radiator, and that constitutes the entire cooling system. What am I missing? Why is it overheating?

Sounds to me youre rad has a blocked core passages, Also I would recomend inspecting youre hoses as well, Make sure the cooling system is blead properly, After add the coolant, Make sure u leave the rad cap off, And turn the heater on full blast, for about 5-8mins.
