My intrepid after running for sometimes shows temperature high. When I starts its normal. And suddenly the temp level comes to half. No one rectified this. After cooling I again fill the water and it starts again. The water boils too fast and it dries out. Some times. It goes well. Can someone help me out. If I switch on the ac. Its heats up very fast

Mark, I think the thermostat is fine, I can hear the sound of boiling water when I keep my hand on the coolent tank, When I starts the check engine comes on. On running its not there. There is no external leak, fan goes on when the level reach half of thermostat. Thanks mark

Hi there,

Start by replacing the thermostat, and getting the radiator cleaned & flow tested, make sure the cooling fans are coming on. If you are loosing coolant have the system pressure tested to check for external leaks. Stat here.
