This is a 4.7 liter v8. The problem im havin is that when u turn the a/c on after the temperature hits about 190 the engine decides to shutoff. It will also do it some times when you are just driving normal.I replaced the ECT and the thermostat. What else would cause this problem. It seems as if it is getting starved of fuel or something because it will putter before it shutsoff

It may be a fuel problem. Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Also, does the car start right back up after it dies? Is the check engine light on?

No, I havent checked the fuel pump pressure but about 6 months ago I replaced the fuel pump itself. It starts up after about 3 or 4 times and only when it seems like it cools down. The check engine light stays on, you can reset everything and it goes away for awhile and it runs fine but then it goes right back to the same old problem.

You may want to test the pressure bleed down on the fuel system. Other things can cause the problem. It is at least a place to start. Also, what code are you pulling from the light being on?
