Periodically when starting I just get a clicking when turning the ignition. I've jumped it and then it will start. Problem still continued did not jump it just turn the ignition. I got click, click, click and then it started. I had the battery check, cleaned terminals which had a little corrosion, check to see if any wires were loose they weren't. Truck started and thought the problem was solved. Before going to bed checked to see if truck would start and it did. This morning went to start and problem started again click, click. What could I do next before taking it to a shop? Had problem for approximately 3 weeks.

It sounds like the stater may be going bad. There is a solenoid on it that can cause the problem. If you are getting a clicking, the ignition and starter relay are doing their job.

Try this. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check the voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. You should be getting 12+ volts. If you are, the starter needs replaced. Do this when the starter isn't working.

If you have other questions, let me know.
