Can you offer a schematic or detailed instructions on how the rear u-joint is held in place on the yoke on the differential. I dont see how the c clips hold the caps on the yoke.

The c-clips go on before you put the hold down clamps on. In nuetral hold the driveshaft steady and put a wrench on the four seperate screws first. Use a wrench and a small hammer to tap and loosen the caps, they have 3/8ths head screws. Once they are off just push the driveshaft towards the transmission, it may be necessary to use a prying action to loosen the u-joint. Then the caps come off, use a press or u-joint tool to install the new one, I use a vice and a hammer, but be careful not to damage the driveshaft. Lastly put the caps on then the c-clips, and re-install in the reverse order. Be careful not to loose the needle bearings so it may be best to coat them with grease while you do the installation process. The c-clips are only used to hold the driveshaft u- joint in the differential yoke after the clamps are re-installed.
