The engine failed (rod bearing). Repaired per recall. When I picked it up. The TPMS was broke, and the right turn signal was out. And the car vibrated, and the handling was terrible. They said I needed new "motor mounts". For over $3,000. I looked up the part numbers of the motor mounts, and it's labeled as "engine mounts" None of these problems existed prior to bringing in my car. Did they damage the mounts when they installed the new engine?

Hi,

If they had the engine out, it should be their responsibility to check things such as mounts. Also, if they were good prior to the work, they don't just go bad for no reason. It is possible that something was left loose.

Also, an engine mount shouldn't affect handling. It could cause a vibration, and the chances of all of them needing to be replaced (because they all went bad at the same time) is extremely unlikely.

Take a look below at the pics I attached. Make sure the mounts are tight and check to see if there is any damage to the mounts. Additionally, make sure the engine support under the engine bolts are tight.

Pic 3 below shows the sub-frame bolts. The remaining pics are to help you locate/identify mounts.

Let me know.

Joe
