So I had a friend fix my CV axle I ordered it. It broke down. Then I got it towed to Ammaco. Ammaco said it wasn't installed properly and fixed it. I picked it up it was $220.00. I start to drive home and notice it's not right it's going to break down and it does. They towed it back and now they said I ordered the wrong size CV axle. So the did that and picked it up it was $186.00. It's better, I drive it one and a half days then same thing again. Ammaco tows it back now they say it's $1,200.00 and it's the differential. They also moved the front tire that was not good to back. I haven't picked it up due to the price not to mention I always had to call them rather than they call me through the whole process. I also got the feeling it's going to break down again, so I don't know. So does this sound crazy? It took 3 times back and forth to the shop. Shouldn't they known the first visit? I feel I'm getting ripped off. I am a female I just don't know at $1,200.00 is a lot I think. Any advice maybe i'm wrong?
Thank you.

Hello, I'm Danny.

I just have a few questions first. When you had your vehicle towed to AAMCO did you supply the CV axles every time or them? Did they do a test drive after completing the repairs? Did they actually check to see in the differential if there was damage before quoting you $1,200.00? This does kind of sound like they're giving you the run around. Let me know and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hey Danny,

I only replaced when my friend fixed it but when it went to Ammaco they replaced it they said I ordered a inch and a half off. They say they test drive it but they can do no more than 65 and I could tell after first time go not fast at all I wouldn't make it home. Which it didn't. And lastly I have to call them the 3rd time to ask if they had figured the problem and solution he said yes it's differential. We ordered should be delivered tomorrow and ready. Also when the first time it broke leaving them he says to me I'm sorry I was just trying to pick the best way to be cheapest. I said I don't want cheap I want it done right. I need a running vehicle but not ride just being honest. I don't know what to say or just pay the $1,200.00 and be done with it, but I just feel it shouldn't take 3 times. I thought it would be a one time thing something feels not right I don't know what to say to Ammaco. Thanks Danny.

Hello again.

Yeah, sounds like they are kind of giving you a bs story. If you were to order an axle for your Jeep it's either the right part or wrong not an inch off. Knowing you were having this problem now they refuse to go on the freeway or above 65? Never heard of that. When I do a test drive it has to be comprehensive before returning to customer. Since it took so many tries before they found the so called problem after 3 tries I would ask for them to provide a discount on this differential repair. Be sure after you make up your mind on the repair to get a warranty. Hope things work out for you because I really don't like seeing people getting ripped off. Next time go to your local mom and pop repair store instead of those greedy chain stores. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
