Tires and Wheels problem
1993 Jeep Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic 180, 00 miles

Hi,
I just have a question reguarding my 4 wheel drive. I have driven my Jeep for two previous winters, but this year when I am in 4 wheel drive a light comes on the dash that says "PART TIME." I don't know what this means, and I cannot find any information for a 1993 Jeep Sport 4.0 litre. Please help if you can!
Thank you!

If you have "selec-Trac".
2wd position - this position is for driving on hard surfaced roads under normal driving conditions when 4wd is not desired
4x4 part time position is designed for TEMPORARY use of 4wd when off road conditions such as deep snow or heavy ice require increased traction. DO NOT USE 4X4 PART TIME on dry paved roads
4x4 full time position is the primary drive position which offers better traction when roads are wet snow covered or icey. Use selec trac 4x4 full time all year round if you wish. Hift trensfer case from 2wd to 4x4 full time while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed.
Hope this helps. Jim
