When I start or turn off my car engine after some time a small noise like cruk cruk comes, not continuously, but after some time, and then when I apply brakes again the same noise. Sometimes same voice like when you turn off motorbike and its exhaust do it when cooling down cruk cruk checked each and every thing in engine and shields everything is fine some mechanic say change your engine header. So, I am confused. Please help if someone can please.

Hi,

When you say header, are you referring to the exhaust manifold? If so, when the engine cools, the steel contracts. Is that what you may be hearing?

If possible, can you record the noise and upload it for me to hear? Also, you mentioned using the brakes causes the same sound. If I'm correct and it is the exhaust manifold, I'm not sure how the brakes would tie into that.

Let me know as much as you can. Does it happen only when the engine is off? Does it only happen when the brakes are applied? Anything you can think of that may help me diagnose this is appreciated.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe, thanks for your precious time how are you bro? Yeah bro I will just record a sound, but this sound happens when I do turn on engine or turn off the engine like metal pipe heating or cooling down make a noise like “cruk “not continuously but after sometime probably 2 or 3 times. It’s same voice like motorbike exhaust or any old metal pipe do it when heating or cooling down secondly sometimes when I accelerate not continuously same voice comes 1 time or 2 time.

Hi,

I suspect it is something cooling. If everything is working properly, I wouldn't be too concerned. However, if you are able to record it, that would make me feel more confident in what I'm saying.

If you hear it when you start the engine, there is expansion happening so that can cause a sound as well.

Let me know if you can get it recorded or if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
