I recently changed plugs, cap, rotor, & gas filter and about a week later I noticed that I have to crank for 3-5 seconds to start the engine. I've never had this problem before. It doesn't happen every time. Sometimes it will crank right up if it is warmed up. What is the cause? Thx - Darryl

Hello,

There are several reasons for the engine to have hard starting issue.
It could be due to a torn air intake tubing, weak fuel pump, dirty throttle body, worn spark plugs, low cylinder compression. It can also happen due to faulty mass air flow sensor.

Here is a helpful guide:

It will be a good idea to look at each of the possible areas and make sure everything is in good shape and clean. Replace as necessary.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
