1999 Chevy Tahoe Long cranking on cold start only
Engine Performance problem
1999 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles
first start in the morning
It cranks about 4 to 5 revolutions before starting then dies.
Then restart, it will start right up.
The only time it does this is on a morning cold start.
The fuel pump and filter was replaced about 8 months ago, then I replaced the fuel filter again 2 weeks ago and it did not help.
It started long cranking about 3 months ago, the dieing just started about 3weeks ago.
Iam wondering if there is a cold starting part that has gone bad.
Cant afford to take it into a shop right now, hoping it will be a inexpencive fix.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I'd use a gage and check fuel pressure. Also, if you have the spider fuel system, the poppets are known for sticking causing extended crank after overnight sit.

To get the fuel pressure checked will cost appr. $90.00 for a mech. to diagnose.
Before I spend that should I try to use a fuel cleaning additive?

Try some seafoam, see if it helps? Around here the autostores sell it.
