my 99 tahoe used to start on the first click, now sometimes i have to try two or three times to get it started. hot or cold it doesnt matter. sometimes it starts right off and sometimes it doesnt. I have changed the fuel filter, replaced the fuel pressure regulator, (not fun). and the fuel pump module. I dont know what else to check. because the problem seams to occur when the car is off, No codes or check engine light. what do you think?

first i would check fuel pressure when you get the extended crank. there are so many problems with these fuel pumps, thats where i look first. i find in most cases the connector on the fuel pump is melted on the gray wire or the black wire due to high resistance. there is a amp draw test you can do on the fuel pump test lead if you have a multimeter with a 10 amp dc test port on the meter. these pumps should be pulling 10 amps if its good when i find they have less than ten amps there is a problem in pump or wiring causing the problem
