My wife was driving the car when it just stopped. Check engine lights came on. She tried to restart it and it cranked but would not start. Replaced the fuel pump in the gas tank and got the car started. Also replace the fuel filter on the rail and it started again and seemed to run fine. Drove it for about 15 miles and experienced the same problem; engine died and it would crank but not turn over. Checked all the electrical fuses and everything checks out OK. Can't figure out why the car won't start. Also replaced caps and rotar, spark plugs and wires about 6 months ago. The engine hesitates slightly when you step on the gas lightly usually from a stand still. Otherwise the car runs great. What else should I check for?

1993 Chevy Suburban, 5.7 liter V8, 4 wheel drive.

First thing I would do is get that engine code scanned asap.

Same thing happened to my 1993. Ended up being a cracked distributor cap.

MY 94 K1500 had the same problem and it was the fuel pressure regulator under the air cleaner. They do wear out.
