My gas pedal keeps sticking on 2000 Z-71 Silverado with a 5.3litre with 170,000 miles- I have lubricated both the cable@the accelerator and under the hood, but it seems to be something else. Any ideas. I really need to get this repaired as i have a 16yr old that could get stuck somewhere if she can't get the accelerator to respond.

get some throttle body cleaner, spray some on a rag and open up the throttle body plate to clean the carbon build up inside the plate. after that, start the engine, have someone give it some slight gas, and spray the cleaner inside the throttle body a little at a time to free the plate up. give it short small bursts of spray until the throttle body, is clean. good luck
