2001 Chevy Silverado enige low idle and stalls

What causes my 2001 chevrolet silverado 1500 to start up at a low idle and then dies out. After serval attempt to start engine it will run as normal. Second time in 8 months that this has happened.

Has the check engine light come on? Also, have you checked fuel pressure and fuel pressure drop off?
Finally, has the fuel filter been changed reciently and have you checked for vacuum leaks?
