Truck started to act up recently. Engine will not idle. Difficulty starting. Need to try to startt several times and finally starts after pumping the gas pedal.
Occasionally, turning key causes everything to blackout, as in no lights, no radio, no dash display. After a few seconds an audible reset is heard, then the engine strating routine happens. Pump the gas pedal engine might start after 4-5 try.

No engine codes on a code reader.

I see possibles are ignition switch, fuel pump, pressure regulator. Also saw a "replace battery." Battery was checked and it is very good.

Any ideas on how to narrow down what might be wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Definitly clean all battery connections real good. Yes, the fuel pressure reg can do that as well. Look for corrosion on relays and connectors at main power center under the hood

Thanks for the reply. Battery terminals are OK. This AM truck "blanked out" but then just at the last instant tried to start. I suspect the ignition switch. I will also check fuel regulator.

Thanks.

Cleaned Battery terms. That fixed the "blanking out" problem. Sorry to say the battery terminals were in bad shape.
Fuel pump was shot.
Fuel regulator was leaking.
All repaired/replaced.
Truck runs fine.
