2001 chevy s-10 crew cab well maintanied and current with all maintence. Hubby went to work this am and our truck was running fine. When he left and tried to start our truck it would not start. He jumped it and while he was driving the gauges dropped. The temp and fuel bottomed out like the truck was off. However, the voltage and oil temp were fine! After he got home he tried it again! Again it would not start and while idling everything is peachy, but when you drive they bottom out again. Please help this is our only vehile and we live way out. Hubby has to work on Monday so we need to get this thing fixed this weekend!

Thanks soooooooo much for your input or help!

When it was running did the check engine light came On?

Do you mean it cranks over but refuses to start or when key is turn to start no crank at all. You need to answer this so we can get you going by Monday.

When it was idling it was fine, but when he goes all the lights on the dash come on. Every last one. Check engine, abs, battery, airbag and all the other lights light up like when it is first started. When he tries to crank it there is absolutley nothing!

Thanks for your help! We found out the mystery. It was 2 things! First, the battery (which was less than 1yr) was going bad. Also, the ground on the firewall was loose which they say could hae caused the battery issue, but, the battery was what was causing the truck to act like it was posessed.

After the new battery the truck now acts fine!

Thanks again !
