I have a 1996 4.3L S-10 and i started having problems with my struck and it wouldn't start so i changed the fuel pump relay and oil pressure sending unit and that did nothing, so i put a new fuel pump in and it still wont start. When i try to start it, it cranks but it wont start and the fuel pump doesn't come on, but the relays click. any ideas?

Yep, the power has to reach th epump somehow......... there is a harness inside the tank that connects the pump through the tank unit, 2 wire connector on the pump and another 4 wire on the bottom of the tank unit

ok, everything is plugged in and i rechecked the end. 1 is getting constant power to the fuel gauge 1 is on for 3 seconds(relay) going to the pump and 2 are dead(1 going to each pump and gauge). does this mean that i'm only getting power to the fuel pump for those 3 seconds? and if so why is the pump not even coming on for those 3 seconds?

Here we go... If you are getting power to the tank and the pump isnt coming on, you will have to drop the tank back out to see why
