My car's message center is telling me that the coolant is low, then I check it and its not. Then the temperature gauge keeps moving up to almost overheating. What could the problem be?

More than likely the temperature sensor is the issue but we need to verify this by checking its operation.

Here are a few guides that will help with this:

Below is the wiring diagram and we need to start with checking the resistance across the sensor. Then start the engine and make sure as the engine gets hotter the resistance should be changing smoothly and not jumping.

If it doesn't then we need to replace the sensor. Please run through this material and let us know what you find.

Thanks
