Electrical problem
1988 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I NEED HELP> I just replaced the alternator and got a new battery. But it still dose weird things. The car will run fine all day if I charge the battery up. But once the end of the day roles around and I try to turn on the headlights it kills the car. I was maybe thinking mybe my battery cables are jacked up and its restricting charge or somthing of the sort. Wont die till you turn on the lights though. Then when you go to start it up its dead. Any ideas. And it has a brand new alternator and battery

Try simple things first. Remove cables and clean battery terminals and both ends of cables. Inspect cables for missing insulation/burn marks.

I took them off. But when I did it seemed like the wires conected to the starter were not that tight. Could that be the problem
