Car died while driving on the freeway and would not start

I was driving down the freeway at about 60 mph and my car just died on me and would not start again. What could the problem be?

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.

Thanks so much for your response. I believe we found the problem to be a broken timing belt.
