Hello,

A vehicle can have surging issues due to spark, fuel or vacuum issues.

Have a look at this article it covers the basics of the surging issues, should be able to provide you with some insights.

Also is your check engine light illuminated? If the issue is due to a sensor or other components it can trigger the engine light. If so have the vehicle scanned for codes.
You can get this done at any of your local auto parts store. Just take your vehicle there and they will scan and give you the codes.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.

No check engine lights. Now today it started pitter puttering. A month ago we replaced the transmission solenoid when it was doing that and it took car if the puttering until today. So far in last 3 months we have replaced alternator, radiator cap, thermostat, water pump, fan clutch, the transmission solenoid along with the transmission filter, air filter and if course oil change. Just received parts to fix both front bushings as well. I'm to the point of driving it off a bridge.

So when you say its pitter puttering, what does is actually do? Hesitation on acceleration? Low power?

Like transmission slipping or when you have bad gas. Small jerking when going 40 or over.

Sounds like it might be shuddering going in to the high gear. Which is typical of transmission shuddering. Usually the transmission will shudder when there is not enough fluid pressure inside the transmission, which can be due to low or dirty fluid or a failed component like the solenoid.
