Yesterday my message center said "Service stability system." I left the car at my local repair garage and received the ECM diagnosis code C0286. When I looked up the code it says "C0286 - ABS Indicator Lamp Circuit Shorted to B+".

Can you tell me what needs to be replaced if anything. My repair garage says it needs $1,100.00 to repair. I need a second opinion.

Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem and it was a steering wheel sensor. It was $55.00 on ebay and it took me about 10 minutes to put it in. I dont know what my error code was but it was an easy cheap fix. Just look under the dash and it is a round white piece around the steering rod. One screw and the rod comes apart and it slides out. Just unplug and slide it off, slide the new one on and plug it in. Hope I helped.
