I was driving to work this morning and my car was fine and then all the sudden I went to acelerate and the car wouldn't go faster then 25 mph the rpm's were up to 3 but the car wasn't moving.

what could it be? Could it be the transmission fluid or maybe the whole transmission? Could the brakes have anything to do with it? I have to get the both calliper's replaced and the brake pads the one calliper is locked up. Could that have something to do with it?

Thanks Lindsey

First, check the trans fluid. Check it hot, ideling in park.

Let me know what you find.

If you put the trans in neutral, will the car coast or move? If so, it sounds like the problem may be in the trans. Let me know what you find.

Ok, well I took it to a shop and it is the trans, how much do they usually cost? Rebuilt? New? Labor?

The cost is all based on what needs repaired in the trans. 1200. To 2000.00 isn't out of the ordinary. Maybe you could find one with a warranty on the internet or a salvage yard near you. You may be able to save a few bucks doing it that way.

Let me know what you find.
