Drove car, everything was operational. The radio does not light up or turn on. Nothing shows in the display for temperature or time either. We checked the fuses, and they seemed to be okay. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Usually when a specific component doesn't work there is a circuit issue or the component itself.
Has the battery been jumped or any accessories been added? Replacing the battery will put the radio into a security mode requesting a code to regain any functionality. Any aftermarket components installed like a dvd player, blue tooth, radio, etc....?

If the fuses are good (there is more than one) and the circuits to the radio and time good then its the radio and compass/time units that are bad.

This guide will help you check for power at the fuses and the grounds for the system. The wiring diagrams below will show you how the system works.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

and

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

If everything check out the head unit is bad. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please run this test and get back to us.

Thank you for responding, no nothing has been added. Everything is stock. Battery was replaced in early Spring 2013. Does not ask for code, all backlights on radio are out. Completely dark. The only thing that shows on the display is that the Bluetooth was connected. Time or temperature did not show at all either. My husband checked the fuses and said they are good, he will have to pull the radio I guess to check and see if there is voltage to the radio, but that will have to wait for the weekend, I guess. :( So strange, but I guess if things are electrical, anything is possible. I appreciate your time and insight to this situation.

Did you find the answer to your problem? The same thing seems to be happening to me too. Electric door locks, fob, nav system and audio system don't seem to work. Can't be fuse because they are on different circuits. Not sure what to do.

Actually, after checking all fuses with tester and they all tested as if they were working, my husband pulled the fuses related to radio, I think there were 4 all together, pulled them out and pushed them in again, and by some stroke of luck, just as I was looking up how to remove the radio from the dash, CD's that were in the radio began making "noise", so we got the key, turned the power on and the radio asked for the code as well as the nav system asking for the code, knock on wood, everything has been working perfectly ever since. Do not know what happened to cause it, just happy we did not need to purchase the radio at an estimated cost of at least $800. Good Luck!

I have 2005 mdx touring, somebody cut all the wires underneath the front passenger seat and took the navigation gps drive. So now the navigation, AM/FM and rear view camera doesn't work. But the XM radio and the CD player was working fine until yesterday and all of a sudden I see that cd stopped working, the radio is now not turning on, the 12V socket below the radio and also in the box is not working now.

I checked the radio fuse and it is fine. What could be causing the radio to not work, is it the wires hanging around openly underneath the passenger seat? Please help.

Hi SATTAR419,

When wires are left hanging afte being cut, they would cause shorting when the bare ends of powered wires contacts with any body parts or grounds. Use wire tapes to cover them up individually to prevent shorting.

Check fuse # 9 ( 15 A ) in passenger underdash fuse box. It is for the accessory power socket relay.

Radio, cigarette lighter, mid screen & control of air conditioner. Not working. It seems like they are on the same fuse/line. They all went out the same time. I must say that the air conditioner / heater & temp controls does come on, I just can not control the fan speed. Is this a simple fix as a special fuse replacement which I can't find?

Hi glouris,

There is an accessory relay that is out and not working but to be sure here is a guide and the location of the relay to help you get the problem fixed.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-an-electrical-relay-and-wiring-control-circuit

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

Navi or non navi?
Just the lcd display of the audio unit itself? You can still cycle between am/fm/cd/tape without the display and everything else is working fine without the display?
You can have the audio unit's face changed if the problem is exclusive to the lcd screen.

Both the cruise control and the stereo quit working at the same time. I thought I heard a pop where the drivers side fuse box would be when they stopped but the fuses seem to be ok. Also checcked the fuses under the hood and fuse num 9 on passenger side. Am wondering if there is another fuse somewhere having to do with the steering wheel since both of these have steering wheel controls. To reiterate though, the stereo is doing nothing, not even asking for the code or the red light flashing. Maybe I am checking the wrong fuse?

Check the following fuses. Did you use a test lamp to test the fuses?

Underhood fuse is # 47 and # 48.
Driver's underdash fuses are # 6, # 8 and # 9.
Passenger fuse # 9.

Six cylinder four wheel drive automatic 15,600 miles.

Radio, cigarette lighter, navigation system, and control of air conditioner are not working. It seems like they are on the same fuse/line. They all went out the same time. I must say that the air conditioner/heater and temperature controls do come on. I just cannot control the fan speed. Is this a simple fix as a special fuse replacement (which I cannot find)? I did replace the radio fuse (with no success), which is located in the fuse box that is under the dashboard. Thanks

Hi tajimodern,

Did you check Fuse number 9 in passenger under-dash fuse box?

An accessory power relay in the same fuse-box provides power to the radio and navigation system.

I accidently sat on my key remote while in the car- it set off the
Alarm. I pushed the key so it would silence the alarm.
When I turned the car on the navigation and cd/radio screen
We're blank with the anti theft light blinking. There is no "code" flashing and nothing
Happens when I enter the code in. Any ideas on how to
Get my radio back!
