So I’ve changed out everything in my brake line except the lines themselves, ABS module, master cylinder, and booster, and still my ABS and traction control lights are causing absolute brake seizure!

Hi,

The most common cause for the ABS to actuate when not needed is a faulty wheel speed sensor. This can cause both the ABS and traction control to not work properly.

The easiest thing to do is use a live data scan tool and see if all the wheel speed sensors are indicating the same speed. If one is off, replace it.

If you don't have a scan tool to do this, the sensors can be tested with a multimeter or a voltmeter. Here is a link that explains how to test a wheel speed sensor:

If you find one is bad, here is a link that explains in general how to replace one. You can use this as a guide.

If you look at pics 1 - 8, they are the directions specific to your vehicle for replacing the wheel speed sensor.

One other possibility is the rear toner ring has failed. That is the component that the sensor uses to determine speed. I attached the directions for replacing it as well. It will require the removal of the rear axle assembly.

Starting with pic 9 are the directions for sensor ring replacement.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
