Hello,

While driving, the ABS light comes on, and after a while, it turns off. I do not have an OBD scanner, and I would like to check if there is any ABS code stored. I know older Honda models have a 2-pin service check connector somewhere on the passenger side. I attempted to find it on this 2014 model to no avail. Can you help me find this connector on this 2014 Accord?
Thank you, kind,
Werner

Hi,

The connector you are referring to was on pre-1995 Honda vehicles (OBD1). There was a diagnostic two-terminal blue connector used to trigger the code display mode, which is located on the passenger's side, under the dash.

After 1994, the vehicles were equipped with an OBD 2 system that requires a scan tool to retrieve codes.

Because the vehicle is newer, I recommend scanning the can-bus. If there are issues with ABS faults, the codes will be stored in the ABS module. A traditional scan tool won't retrieve codes from that module. Here is a link explaining how it is done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/can-scan-controller-area-network-easy

You could try at a local parts store because most will scan for free, but most times they won't have a scanner that can read the can-bus.

Let me know if this helps or if I can help in any way.

Take care,

Joe
