Water Pump Replacement

Tools Required

EN 46104 Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool

Removal Procedure

Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) (See: Service and Repair\Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Service and Repair\Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)) .
Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (See: Engine\Drive Belt\Service and Repair) .
Remove the right engine strut mount. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side (See: Engine\Engine Mount\Service and Repair\Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side) .
Remove the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Side (See: Engine\Engine Mount\Service and Repair\Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Side) .

Use the EN 46104 in order to retain the water pump pulley.

Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
Remove the water pump pulley.

Remove the water pump bolts.
Remove the water pump.
Remove and DISCARD the water pump seal.
Carefully clean the water pump sealing surfaces.
Installation Procedure

Install a NEW water pump seal.
Install the water pump.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the water pump bolts.
Tighten the water pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the water pump pulley and the water pump pulley bolts.

Use the EN 46104 in order to retain the water pump pulley.
Install the water pump pulley bolts.
Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Install the right engine strut mount. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side (See: Engine\Engine Mount\Service and Repair\Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side) .
Install the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Side (See: Engine\Engine Mount\Service and Repair\Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Side) .
Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (See: Engine\Drive Belt\Service and Repair) .
Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) (See: Service and Repair\Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Service and Repair\Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)) .
