Buick Rendezvous Heater Problem

The heat in the cabin runs cool. It blows in fine however it just does not get very warm. I have not changed the coolant fluid in the car and was told that the fluid is very dark, but t is full. Could this be the reason why the heat in the cabin is blowing cool ORcould it be the thermostat or heater coil. Someone please advise. Thank you!

Are both the heater hoses going into the heater core at the firewall getting too hot to hold?
