Yesterday I did a oil change on my girlfriends Ford Focus ZX3. This is the 1st oil change that I had done on this particular vehicle. Unfortunatley she was not taking care of her car when it came to checking and changing the oil. When I pulled out the dipstick it looked almost like a thick, rusty colored sluge! I changed the oil and the car was running great. Well last night when we were returning home the car started to hesitate and it started to smell like sulfer like something was burning. I pulled off of the road immediatley and shut the car off. I popped the hood and things looked fine. I then tried to start the car and it would turn over but not fire for about 10 minutes. Then finally I got it to start and drove it home. It has been sitting this morning so far. Im not sure what would of caused this to happen and I was hoping that maybe you could help me figure that out.

It sorta sounds catalytic converter related. Might as well drive it some more to see what happens. If it does it again look underneath and see if cat is red hot.
