Nissan Almera Engine Problem

Every so often my Nissan Almera 160 lux '02 cuts out whilst driving. Sometimes it will recover and carry on, other times will swing over without any proplems but not catch. Sometimes given 5 to 30 minutes will restart. Serviced and no improvement. Where should I start looking for the fault?
