Started with "check fuel cap light" for about 2 weeks, then started running rough when going uphill, then had check engine light on. All lights are now off but last night I started to hear the squeaking noise and today I can't stop at a light without it stalling out and the noise is very loud. Does drive fine on a highway stretch

What size engine do you have?We need to get those codes even if you have to get a cheap code reader to read them. See if the auto parts store will rent you a code reader like auto zone etc.

My 1998 mustang GT is doing the same thing, although it's not leaving any codes. When I start in the morning it will shutoff unless I rev it some. I do that then drive it for about five miles and it goes fine. When I get to my destination and let it sit for longer than 30 mins it happens again. I'm thinking it might be a vacumm hose leak but not sure, Thoughts?

Both of you need to have it scanned for codes, both soft and hard. AND you need to check for vacuum leaks.
