I have an '01 Pontiac Montana, I have just drove from Georgia to Florida and everything was fine. No problems what so ever. But after I parked for about 30min I had to go to the store, upon reaching the store I turned off the car and opened the door. But the radio did not turn off as it should have so I turned it off using the power button but when I tried to lock the van with the remote it wouldn't lock. I also tried the buttons on the door(both sides) and they failed to lock them too. When I got home I unhooked the battery in hopes that it would reset the computer but it still does the same things. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

This sounds like an issue that could be related to the theft system as that is part of the lock and related to shutting the radio off when you open the door.

Is the theft light remaining on or flashing? If so, we need to run through this guide and try to disable it.

If this is not, then we need to check for codes and make sure there are not any related to this system.

If there are no codes, then we need to find out voltage inputs from the door sensors and other sensors related to this system.

Basically, we need to try and find the sensor that may be keeping the BCM from engaging the locks and shutting the radio off starting with the driver switch.

Please run through this and let us know what you find. Thanks
