I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX and for the past couple of days the check engine light has came on. I've honestly been ignoring it because I didn't think it was entirely important and I've been busy. But now the Low oil pressure light is blinking and I'm finding out I should have been more attentive.

I am extremely stupid. I know, please forgive me, this is my first car, and I'm a girl and I'm on the verge of a heart attack.

Please help - Kisses

The 1st thing you need to do is find out what causing the CEL to come on-by having the computer scanned for code/s-Autozone or any parts store can do it for free of charge-

Is it safe to do that though considering the "low oil pressure" sign is blinking? I'm pretty sure that part got cut off from my question. But yes, just today my low oil pressure sign came up. So should i. Take it for an oil change? (Its about 3 miles away) then go to an Autozone and see whats wrong? (Also, I know it was due for an oil change so could that be it?) And if so. How badly have I messed up? Whats the chances that I just completely ruined my car.

NO, do not drive it with that light on. Check the oil level and fill it if necessary. If the light doesn't go of, have it towed to the shop.

Low engine oil can cause the MIL to turn on as the VTEC valve would not function correctly.

Ensure you have sufficient engine oil before driving the vehicle.
