Well, I don't know how to start it?
My husband have Volvo S80, t6, year 2000. He bought it before 10. Days (change it for Audi A6 tdi 2.6, year 2001) and now. PROBLEMS, ofcourse! At the start he needs a little worm up. O.K. That I understand and after he starts to act normaly. After a few miles on a third speed (3?) He goes to the safe mode, and you must stop on a first parking to turn it off, and turn it on and it's o.K. Then. Could it be gearbox or clutch problem? Should I change a oil in gearbox (it is expensive, very. Sorry I'm from sarajevo)? 300 $ is changing oil in gearbox, but they couldn't be shore that it will solve the problem. Maybe in our Volvo main sale ( I'm not so shore that they know to find a problem. We have experience with Ford Scorpio. It is the same person who owns it) wil now it? But ofcourse the car have american confor interior, and great soft, curved plastic, and leather.I just want to be good by motor inside.

Is your "Service Engine" light on?
If so, call a couple of transmission repair shops in your area to see if the can scan your computer for codes (try to find a shop that will do this for free).
Once you have the code post it here for more assistance.

By the way, check your transmission fluid to be sure it is at the proper level. Also, check its color - it should be red (about the color red you see in peppermint [nana bombon] candy), which means it is in good condition.

Let me know about the codes and the transmission fluid color/level, and if my translation of "peppermint candy" is accurate.

Thank you.
