2000 Dodge Neon Repair Question

Odomete light stays on
I was looking into buying a dodge neon 2000 the light on odometer will not turn off even when the car is off, it drains the battery is this an easy fix, or should i not invest into this car? the said they replaced the engine!

does the odometer work right besides light?

yes the odometer works but the light will not turn off

does the dome light work when you open close door?

i have not checked that what does that have to do with that

also did you check for codes with ignition on-off on-off on?

and did the problem start right at engine change or later?
