I wanted to check the oil level in my 1999 Toyota camry, I mistakenly checked the oil level by looking at the transmission stick which indicated low fluid. Not knowing that that was not the oil stick, I Paniced and added 5 quarts of oil in the car and the smoke started from the tail pipe. I ask for my friend's opinion and he suggested changing the oil which did himself and it did not stop the excessive smoke. What must be wrong? And what should I do now to remedy the situation? It has only been one day since he changed the oil.

Thank you for your anticipated help.

I would recommend just reving it up for a while snapping the throttle etc. Driving it for a while that usually will do the trick. Sometimes it take's a while for the smoking to stop when you over fill them.
