My 99 Toyota Camry 4 cyl shifts into reverse but no other gear. So what step should I take now.

When place into drive no shifting sound occurs and still idles but when placed in reverse it works

I would check for codes do a pressure test on the transmission check the transmission pan for debris metal color of fluid etc.

Had this problem with a 95-all I did was drain the fluid -replace it -make sure that if fills to the mark and bingo-it moves forward-my advice is bring her in and have it pressure tested-its like hooking up on the Scope
